Job Description :
Responsible for the coordination and direct patient care of patients ; performs medical histories, physical exams, ECGs and other nursing care and documents all findings appropriately.
Sees, examines and develops treatment plans for patients during outpatient clinic sessions under the supervision of an attending physician .
Interprets incoming lab results and radiological studies; instructs patients regarding medication administration and dosage and monitors patient responses to medications; prepares and reviews patient medical records; participates in educational initiatives.
Writes chemotherapy and other orders; administers injections. manages telephone inquiries under the supervision of an attending physician.
Educates patients regarding their conditions and treatments, Acts as a liaison between the outpatient and inpatient hematology/oncology units.
Participates in relevant multidisciplinary clinical conferences.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Master's Degree in Nursing.
NYS Registered Professional Nurse license and current RN registration.
Current Narcotics DEA registration certificate.
NYS Registered Nurse Practitioner (NP) license and current NP registration.
Applicable National Board Certification Certification (such as ANCC, PNCB, etc).
Current BLS from American Heart Association.
Current ACLS or PALS (if applicable).
Infection Control Certificate.
2-3 years work related experience, preferable in a clinical or research setting; ability to demonstrate good clinical judgement and apply new concepts and skills.
Highly Desired Requirements
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral and written skills.
Experience in an oncology clinical practice.
Experience using EPIC or similar EMR
